Blog feedback and learner response task

WWW: You have made an outstanding start to GCSE Media – well done! Your blog already looks like you are taking time and effort to deliver high quality work. Your fruit bowl is superb and your opening questions are thoughtful. I like your acknowledgement of the two sides to social media – I have exactly the same view. Your homework analysis (Denotation and Connotation and Stranger Things) shows good engagement with the media texts. Keep up the good work!

EBI: The key aspect to work on if we want to aim for that grade 8 is the depth and detail of your written work – for example, for denotation and connotation you could offer more for the ‘connotation’ and ‘analysis’ parts as this is where you need to offer a range of meanings to access the top levels. Similarly, for mise-en-scene and Stranger Things you could offer longer paragraphs or perhaps complete the extension in more detail (the other aspects of CLAMPS).

LR: Create a new blogpost on your Media blog called ‘Blog feedback and Learner Response’. Copy and paste this WWW/EBI feedback into your blogpost then complete the LR tasks/questions below.

Reflect on your first month of Media. What do you feel is your strongest piece of work so far?

I think that my strongest piece of work so far was the camera shots and angles

What is your weakest?

I think that my weakest piece of work so far was the adobe fruit bowl as I only did one fruit bowl in normal colours not picture.

What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?

How to edit and how to film.

EBI:

Props: The board game had a home made look to it presenting that the family doesn't have a lot of money. The lack of money is further shown when the farther is hitting the tv in order to make it work instead of hiring a professional to fix the tv. This represents the poverty that was common back when the play was set in 1980.
