It shows cleanliness and that the product is effective and makes the wihite bold (bright).

The make up is perfect as well as the hair. the model has rolled up sleaves which shows shes working hard.

the anchorage text is patronising also it uses white and bright 14 times to express the fact thaat the product is effective and makes whites brighst

the representation of women found in this ad is hause wifes that look perfect that enjoy cleaning and dont work. this was done by omo to reorganise work placments after the second world war.

the preffered reading of this ad is that women enjoy cleaning an overall being house wifes and this ad helps them encourage and help out with that passion.

10) What is the oppositional reading for this advert - how might a modern audience respond to this text and the representation of women here?

The oppositional reading for this ad is that women are forced too show enjoyment in order to looks good by men and this ad shows that by showing the women enjoying washing which realistically no one does and this only reinforces the stereotype of women being house wives and house wives only.
