Costume:  The boys at the start are wearing casual 1980s clothing which suggest to the audience that the boys are lower class and not professional or serious about their job. This contrasts against the person in a white lab coat and this suggests that he is a professional scientist unlike the boys sitting in a basement playing a board game. The connotations of the white lab coat of the scientist shows that his is looking for perfection and peace which ironical compered to what happens to him Lighting:  In the opening scene, the lighting was turquoise similar to the colour that is often used in hospitals. This shows that the scientist was potentially working on dissecting a animal or being in order to create something but that went wrong and it made the monster that he was running away from.   Denotation: There is a kid that is sad. There is text that says dig toilets not graves. There is a logo that promotes the charity. There are houses behind him Connotation: The child is sad because he doesn't have clean water and one of his family members might of died because of a disease spread by dirty water. The houses look like they are made out of cheap material suggesting he is in a developing country Analysis: The advert helps the audience understand the struggle that people in developing countries go through so it would help them a lot if they had clean water to drink from. In addition, the text across the side of the advert (referring to a ‘graves’) uses seriousness to add to the struggle that people are going through.
